MacFarlane or not, Family Guy Moves Forward
The Strike: Day 10
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Fox will elect to move forward with new episodes of Family Guy despite the absence of creator Seth MacFarlane.
20th TV had no comment on the matter Tuesday but confirmed that it remains in production on new episodes.
As of Tuesday night, the first episode finished without MacFarlane’s blessing had been delivered to Fox.
Sources said that episode is one of three very close to completion, with others in various stages of production.
This is where things get tricky for fans. For most of us, knowing that our favorite shows have episodes on the backburner is great news. Obviously we all want to watch our favorite shows. But what about inferior episodes of our favorite shows?
Is the fact that it’s ‘Family Guy’ enough? Is a temporary compromise of quality acceptable in these unique circumstances?
Personally, I wouldn’t want it for my favorites. But for viewers across the country starved for scripted goodness, new episodes of ‘Family Guy,’ MacFarlane or not, will probably be welcomed with open arms.
