Lions for Lambs - (Preview) - The recommended pick for this week because Robert Redford deserves the benefit of the doubt. An ensemble piece about the various viewpoints in the Iraq War featuring Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep, there’s a strong chance this is going to seem like a preachy polemic, and Iraq movies haven’t fared that well so far this season, but Redford could pull it off.
Fred Claus - (Preview) - Vince Vaughn as the black sheep of the St. Nicholas family. Early reviews haven’t been kind, but Vaughn has been known to be able to make things watchable through sheer force of personality, and he’s got a hell of a cast behind him.
P2 - A Christmas Eve torture-porn horror movie. What happened to Wes Bentley? American Beauty really should’ve served him better than this.
