In Theaters This Week: Cloverfield Finally Shows Itself

Cloverfield: J.J. Abrams produced this intérnét-vérité style film to give America its own Godzilla. The thing swats the head off of the Statue of Liberty, that’s all we know. It might be awesome, and it might be annoying to watch a bunch of dorks you don’t care about running around scared for an hour before you get to see the big thing.
27 Dresses: Katherine Heigl, who thought Knocked Up as a bit sexist, gets to go full-on in the other direction, in a movie about being a perennial bridesmaid directed by Anne Fletcher. Undeniably girly, even though there’s a clip where she mentions having angry hate sex. Maybe James Marsden will decide 27 Dresses is a little sexist sometime in July.
Mad Money: Cynical Diane Keaton, hardass Queen Latifah and doofus Katie Holmes try to swipe money from the Federal Reserve that was about to be destroyed anyway. I expect maybe three chuckles.
