Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds” Intentionally Misspelled To Annoy People

There’s actually probably some kind of artistic reason to misspell the word ‘bastards’ in the title of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds - maybe one of the soldiers without much of an education spells it that way in the script or something - but since the official press release about the start of principal photography in Germany went out today carrying that misspelling, as well as the names of Cloris Leachman and Kill Bill star Julie Dreyfus among others, those of us who pride themselves on having workable vocabularies and a firm grasp of orthography will be twitching at every new development that comes from this project.
