Megan praises the twins for their excellent academic progress reports. She suggests they take up some extracurriculars to beef up their college applications. She suggests they volunteer for a charity that donates used dresses to needy girls. They girls are freaked out by the ordinary public school. Sage hilarious is reminded that she forgot to TiVo Prison Break. The charity’s employee Pam tells them it’s their job to alter some seriously ugly dresses to fit the intended recipients. They decide to totally alter them so they’re fashionable. They do a lousy job, so they buy new designer dresses for the girls. Pam tells them they missed the point of the assignment. Sage tells her that the girls deserve to have nice dresses that make them feel like princesses. This subplot was really silly.
Megan sees her father getting into his car. He pretends not to see her. After Marco advises her to be a grown up, she tracks him down on his houseboat. They have a friendly but awkward reunion. He claims he didn’t see her and that he quit drinking. She invites him to dinner at the house. Oh, Megan. This is going to end badly. Lily calls to say that their Dad invited her to dinner and she’s coming. Megan tracks down Charlie and asks him to come. He says he’ll try. She doesn’t understand why he hasn’t been returning her calls. Lily brings Will. The twins decide to join them because their curious about Megan’s Dad. Lily wants to take advantage of the wine cellar until Megan makes a snide remark about it. The twins ask the Dad about his experiences in AA. Megan leaves a message for Charlie, who hasn’t arrived. The twins charm Megan’s Dad. Megan and Lily fondly recall playing dress-up with their Mom’s clothes. Her Dad tries to tell her that she didn’t just walk out on them. Sage notices that Lily’s wearing Rose’s stolen bracelet. Lily takes off the bracelet and leaves. She tells Will she thought Rose gave her the bracelet, then that she took it because Rose has so much jewelry. When he calls her on her contradictory story, she dumps him.
Rose admits to Megan that she knew the bracelet was stolen all along. She lied that she loaned it to a friend so Megan and Lily would get along. She would give up all her jewels for a night with her Dad. Will apologizes to Megan for not believing what she told him about Lily. Her Dad reveals that Charlie told him Megan was in town a while ago. Megan asks Charlie why he told her Dad she was in town and lied to her about it. He says he didn’t want to lie to her Dad. She calls him a Dick and says she wants nothing to do with him. Her Dad drops by again. He invited Lily to dinner as a buffer. He’s worried about disappointing her. That’s why he pretended not to see her. They make their peace.
