End of Days

Watch End of Days in its entirety, right here, right now on Fancast.

Who hasn’t wanted to see Arnold Schwarzenegger take on Satan?

The 1999 supernatural action-thriller End of Days [watch the trailer] was an effort to capitalize on the turn-of-the-millennium sense of impending worldwide doom, as well as to bring Big Ahh-nuld into the new era of flawed hero after his trademark brand of unstoppable man-god had fallen out of style. He plays an ex-cop named Jericho Cane, a suicidal drunk not dealing with the death of his family well at all. He runs a security service with his partner, the always great and cynically snarky Kevin Pollak, and they find themselves in the middle of an apocalyptic prophecy, and they have to stop Mephistopheles In Gabriel Byrne’s body from engaging in coitus with a woman named Christine York (Robin Tunney) by midnight or else he takes over the world. Matters are complicated by their desire to keep York alive, because there’s also a secret Vatican hit squad trying to prevent Lucifer’s rise to power by straight-up killing her.

Byrne as Satan is particularly enjoyable to watch, because not only does he use his evil power to wrangle a threesome with a college student and her mother, but he can also punch Udo Kier in the face so hard that his head explodes! You just don’t get more evil than that! It must be seen to be believed! So watch End of Days, and see if the implausibly named Jericho Cane can save the world from the Devil. Yaah!

Speaking of Arnold’s Man-God Roles, you can also see one of his earliest works, the amusing comedy Hercules In New York, in its entirety as well, as a Bonus Free Fancast Movie.
