News: James McHobbit?

It’s all rumor and speculation right now, but the latest scuttlebutt is that James McAvoy is the lead choice to play the younger Bilbo Baggins, immortalized in the Lord of the Rings trilogy by Ian Holm, in Guillermo Del Toro’s prequel The Hobbit.
Of course, sources have also suggested Jack Black and Daniel Radcliffe were also considered, so take it with a grain of salt. But in case you don’t remember, McAvoy was the shirtless Mr. Tumnus in the first Chronicles of Narnia film, so he does have fantasy cred.
