The Love Guru

The Love Guru was a bomb and it wasn’t very good. I think we’re all aware that it was on par with some of the bad Saturday Night Live movie adaptations. So here are five of Mike Myers’ SNL characters that would have translated into better movies.

Simon and his Drawrings - What happens when Simon finally leaves the bathtub and everyone notices he’s really a guy in is 40s? Hijinks ensue!

Japanese Game Show - It would be an avant-garde move to make a movie entirely in Japanese gibberish. True, Chris Farley wouldn’t be there to really sell it, but his brothers were in Zohan. They could make the jump over to Myers’ camp for this one.

Coffee Talk - It started as making fun of Paul Baldwin’s voice, but it didn’t take off until Myers slapped on a wig and started worshipping Barbra Streisand. It could become a movie on par with So I Married An Axe Murderer with the right script.

Lothar of the Hill People - These primitive people could have an epic saga of wandering the countryside crushing their enemies, seeing them driven before them, and lamenting about walking with women.

Hedley and Wyche - A slice-of-life story in a small British town full of bad teeth, and the people’s quest for better dentistry. It could work!

Truth be told, though, Myers has likely already made his best SNL adaptation - Wayne’s World. Something tells me 3 Wayne’s 3 World wouldn’t go over as well he might hope.
