Adam Sandler in Going Overboard

Watch Adam Sandler’s first lead role in Going Overboard for free in its entirety, right here, right now on Fancast.

Adam Sandler was once just a skinny low-rent jokester doing bit parts on an MTV game show called Remote Control. His first starring role in a movie was Babes Ahoy, which was a super low-budget thing filmed entirely during a cruise with the Miss America Pageant. The story about a struggling comic named Shecky Moskowitz trying to make it big in cruise-ship comedy languished in obscurity until Sandler eventually hit it big. Then, suddenly, it was retitled Going Overboard and you could mistakenly rent it when you were looking for that Waterboy movie you heard so much about.

Also managing to star Burt Young and Billy Zane, the movie certainly has a self-awareness about it, as Sandler’s first appearance on screen is to explain to the audience that it’s a “no-budget flick.” Instantly, the movie becomes about watching young aspiring comedy types goof around on the cheap, and that can be fun.

See how far Sandler has come since his early days, and watch Going Overboard. It’s worth a laugh.
