Nancy Travis plays Susan Pearson, Bill’s wife on The Bill Engvall Show, which begins its second season on Thursday night. [sample the sitcom here] Although she recently starred in The Jane Austen Book Club, with Maria Bello, Emily Blunt, Kathy Baker and Amy Brenneman, she still has time to watch TV. Here is her list:

All-Time Favorites:

1. Here Come the Brides: based on Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”. I think I loved the romance of it all. Was once so upset that the show was pre-empted that I tried to call the network. I think I was seven.
2. Streets of San Francisco: My mom loved this show, and I loved to watch it with her.
3. The Carol Burnett Show and Laugh-In: oh for a great sketch comedy show. I would imitate the skits on the Carol Burnett show for days.
4. The Partridge Family: Because I was in love with David Cassidy like the rest of the world.
5. Masterpiece Theater: I’m obsessed with all things Elizabethan. Who can forget Glenda Jackson taking on Vanessa Redgrave as Queen Elizabeth and Mary Queen of Scots

Best series never seen:

Sex and the City: I’m not sure why I never saw it, but I know people were crazy about it.

Most under-rated:

The Mind of the Married Man: On HBO, well written by Mike Binder and really well acted. I loved it. [watch a clip]
