Jeff Bridges & Maggie Gyllenhaal Get Crazy Hearts

Iron Man star Jeff Bridges and Dark Knight star Maggie Gyllenhaal have signed on for a CMT film called Crazy Heart. That’s right, Country Music Television has a film unit now.

Crazy Heart is a project from writer/director Scott Cooper, based on a Thomas Cobb novel about a broken-down and drunk country singer (Bridges) who gets his life back on track thanks to his relationship with a reporter (Gyllenhaal). Robert Duvall is also signed up to appear, which fits because the themes seem to be along the lines of Tender Mercies.
