Billy Bob Thornton as Freddy Krueger in a remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. How does that grab you?

That’s the latest scuttlebutt, proffered by Robert Englund himself, the man who originated the role of the claw-fingered burn-victim dream-haunting killer in the first film. Apparently, he’s fine with being replaced since he’s already been there and done that, and he’s fine with a big-budget remake by Michael Bay’s production company (which is already remaking Friday the 13th). Nothing but a rumor, of course, but it does get one to thinking. Thornton is kinda crazy - he just might do it.
