Breaking News: Morgan Freeman in Serious Condition After Car Accident

A Memphis station reports that Morgan Freeman is in serious condition after a Mississippi car wreck in which he flipped his 1997 Nissan Maxima several times. He was traveling with a female passenger, whose condition is currently unrevealed. The jaws of life were required to extract Freeman from the car. More on this as it develops.

UPDATE: Apparently, Freeman was lucid and even joking when he was extracted from the wreckage. Even quipping “no freebies” when someone tried to snap his picture with a cell phone camera. This is a good sign.

UPDATE 2: CNN says “He’s resting quietly and has some fractures. Nothing life-threatening. Nothing permanent.” No indication of drugs or alcohol. Very good to know.
