Colin Farrell

Guy Ritchie’s version of Sherlock Holmes, adventurer-detective, is already sporting Robert Downey Jr. as the titular character and possibly Russell Crowe as his archnemesis Moriarty, and now comes the rumor that Colin Farrell might be cast as Holmes’ trusted aide Dr. Watson. This would be weird, because Will Ferrell is said to be playing the same role in Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy version that’s in the works, likely to come out after Ritchie’s has come and gone. See, there’s only one letter difference between Farrell and Ferrell, and that’s just too coinky-dinky. Perhaps there are greater forces at work here, or perhaps Sherlock Holmes’ skeptical mind can disprove such notions of poppycock.
