Steven Soderbergh’s “Liberace” - Starring Michael Douglas?

Steven Soderbergh just made a massive film about Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara, which stars Benicio Del Toro and has been picked up by IFC Films and should see release in time for award season, and now he wants to follow that up with another biopic… this time about the elaborately ostentatious piano man Liberace. A significant change of pace, to be sure. Soderbergh also apparently wants Michael Douglas to star in the lead role, and Matt Damon to play the role of Scott Thorson, the man who sued Liberace for palimony despite Lee’s constant denials of homosexuality. Would Douglas take on the role? Can you imagine him in bedazzled pink robes?
