Jerry Reed 1937-2008

Best known in the movies for his truck-driving role as Snowman in the Burt Reynolds/Sally Field/Jackie Gleason crazy car action-comedy Smokey and the Bandit, country music man Jerry Reed has died at the age of 71 due to emphysema. He wrote the unbelievably catchy theme song for that movie, “East Bound and Down.” Watch him performing it right here.
