Russell Crowe as Sheriff and Robin Hood in “Nottingham?”

Ridley Scott’s Nottingham, telling the tale of a somewhat more sympathetic Sheriff of Nottingham as played by Russell Crowe, has been on the rewrite train for a while now, and Scott himself has just revealed that the Sheriff’s archnemesis, the erstwhile Robin Hood, is also going to be played by none other than… Russell Crowe. Yes, he’ll be playing against himself as each character has aspects of the other. Scott says it’s “a good old clever adjustment of characters. One becomes the other. It changes.” How do you think that’s going to work? Can you watch a movie with two Russell Crowes? It’s certainly not the same as Two Arnolds.
