Strathairn, Alda, Parker, Rudd and Daniels Join Franco’s “Howl”

The Allen Ginsberg biopic Howl has got a pretty interesting cast lined up. James Franco has already nabbed the lead, and now he’s got a slew of big names lining up behind him. David Strathairn, Alan Alda, Mary-Louise Parker, Paul Rudd and Jeff Daniels are all ready to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ginsberg’s book-length poem “Howl.” Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are writer/producer/directors on the project. It might be hard to top David Cross’ appearance as Ginsberg in I’m Not There, but then again, a beatnik-styled biopic could mean a whole different scene, daddy-o.
