Video: Ralph Fiennes and Kate Winslet in “The Reader”

This is it, folks. This is the trailer for Stephen Daldry’s The Reader, the last movie that Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella worked on as producers. The movie that Harvey Weinstein and Scott Rudin fought so bitterly over that Rudin removed his name from the project. But now that we have some actual footage from the film, we can hopefully get beyond the ugly news surrounding it and anticipate seeing this emotionally-charged work.

Ralph Fiennes stars as a man in therapy, recounting the tale of a passionate, life-changing affair he had with an older woman (Kate Winslet) in one summer of his youth - a woman who later goes on trial for Nazi war crimes. Not something one could easily put behind them.
