TRL Takes Its Last Request Sunday At 8

In a very end-of-an-era move (covered here back in September) Billboard reports that MTV’s seminal Total Request Live will take a final bow this coming Sunday, November 16 at 8 PM ET/PT.
On hand for the finale are a host of names who probably owe their careers to the show, including Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and Nelly along with Beyonce, 50 Cent, Fall Out Boy and Justin Timberlake.
Since September 1998 the live house party broadcast from atop Father Duffy Square has been stoking the flames of the Millenial pop craze ignited by the likes of Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync. But the coming-of-age On Demand revolution that has swept every corner of the entertainment industry in the last year probably signaled the demise of the “we’ll tell you who’s hot and you buy it” mentality plaguing the music industry.
It’s rumored that various hosts from the show’s history will also be on hand for the finale, but there’s no word yet on whether or not Carson Daly will be let out of his toolbox long enough to screw up the ending.
Take a little trip down memory lane before the last goodbye by watching our own version of TRL provided to you by your On Demand buddies right here on Fancast.
