Top 10 Ladies Of Saturday Night Live On Fancast

With the announcement last week of two new Feature Players (both women) joining the cast of Saturday Night Live (Abby Elliott and Michaela Watkins) we got to thinking about the other ladies who’ve appeared on SNL down through the ages. Turns out it’s not a very long list.

Of the more than 300 some odd (literally) cast members lucky enough to have had their names announced in the opening by Don Pardo, only 31 have been women.

So a word of advice to the newbies: If you go strictly by the number of appearances each of your predecessors have made, it looks like getting out in front early and staying there is the key to viewer popularity. And popularity is definitely the key to longevity on SNL.

If you don’t believe that, go ask Alice Tweedy.

Leaving all personal preferences aside, and looking at the list strictly from the standpoint of appearances, these Funny Faces are the all-time Top 10 Ladies of Saturday Night Live - so far.
