Brad Pitt Talks The Joys Of Fatherhood On Oprah
By Tom Rose

Brad Pitt, admitting it’s impossible to go to the mall as a family with Angelina Jolie and the kids, bared his soul on his fairly recent, ever burgeoning role as father, with his latest appearance (after a four year absence) on Oprah yesterday.
So take a break from pretending to the boss that you’re slaving away and check out the 5 minute excerpt above. If your boss man is too cheap to spring for a set of speakers, here are some highlights:
On his growing immunity to noxious baby fumes:
“I’m tough as nails. I’m impervious to poo, snot, urine, vomit. You can’t get me. You cannot break me down.”
On his love for the brood:
“They are the funniest people I’ve ever met. They tell you a lot about yourself and they make me a better person. I can’t imagine life without them.”
On why it’s impossible to make a simple trip to the mall:
“It’s like a half-an-hour just to get everyone buckled in and make sure they’ve got their snacks, and Z.Z. has got a blanket and Shiloh’s got her silky,” he says. “Angie’s militant about it. She’s right on top of it. Thank God, because I’m always forgetting something.”
On Shiloh’s Peter Pan complex:
“She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it’s a Peter Pan thing,” he says. “So we’ve got to call her John. ‘Shi, do you want …’ – ‘John. I’m John.’ And then I’ll say, ‘John, would you like some orange juice?’ And she goes, ‘No!’ So, you know, it’s just that kind of stuff that’s cute to parents, and it’s probably really obnoxious to other people.”
On the price of lost privacy:
“I would like to tear down my gates, see my neighbors, have my kids run into their yards and maybe barbecue!”
His deepest feelings about fatherhood?
“It’s the greatest endeavor I’ve ever taken on. Why should I stop?”
You go, Brad!
