Watch This… And That (Monday, Dec. 22)

Watch This: Normally this column recommends the best new episodes on TV. However, the holiday season has left us with little to choose from. That being said, you must watch How I Met Your Mother tonight on CBS at 8:30 p.m. How to sum up the episode in one word? Slapsgiving. If you didn’t catch the original airing last year (or even if you did), watching Barney get b*tch slapped by Marshall has become a classic TV moment.

And That: Often overshadowed by Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane’s other series American Dad is slightly less funny but has a more cohesive plot than its forerunner. What’s great about a show like this is that you can watch every show out of order and still be able to laugh your head off. Check out last year’s Christmas episode where Stan finds his family’s holiday decorating to be highly inadequate.
