Look out cable TV… there’s an 800-pound. gorilla in the room. Movie house and broadcast giant Jerry Bruckheimer aims to take over the pay-TV world with his first series, “Line” starring Dylan McDermott on TNT.

THR reports that the pilot filmed in November gets a 10 episode greenlight for debut later this year. Bruckheimer’s first baby steps in the medium toe the line for cable scripts with a plotline exploring McDermott’s Carter Shaw, a cop so deeply undercover he’s not sure who is real and what is fantasy. Throw in some tortured memories of a dead wife and you’ve got a safe hybrid of Saving Grace and The Shield. It shouldn’t take long for the bug to spread like a Bruckheimer movie alien attacking the earth.

The uber producer has 7 shows running on broadcast TV, including the CSI franchise, Cold Case, Without A Trace and The Amazing Race.

Sounds like a song. Is a Grammy in the cards?

But his first claim to fame will always be the blockbuster movie, stretching all the way back to “Beverly Hills Cop” and he continues in that realm with the upcoming “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

Expect a lot more explosions.
