Tuned In: What’s Hot, Hotter And Definitely Not Happening In TV
Movie soundtrack night on ‘American Idol’ powered Fox to another Tuesday night ratings win, followed by CBS, ABC, NBC and The CW. ‘Idol’ was up from last week with almost 23.5 million viewers. The ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ results show - where we said good-bye to Steve O - was also up from last week. ‘Fringe‘ however dropped back a bit in its second week back from hiatus, and was down a half million viewers.
What’s Hotter: 90210
Donna Martin is back! Tori Spelling finally returned to Beverly Hills and her old stomping grounds on last night’s ‘90210′ and it helped lift the series to its best ratings since February (2.1 million viewers). What did we learn about Donna? Well, she’s been living in Japan for years and is a hugely successful fashion designer. She’s still married to David Silver, but *gasp*, they’re separated! (Guess Brian Austin Green still isn’t on board to return to the show.)
What’s Definitely Not Happening: According To Jim
Could this finally be the swan song for ‘According To Jim?’ Amazingly, Jim Belushi’s sitcom has survived for eight long seasons, but the run could be over. Last night’s double episodes averaged just under 4.5 million viewers, which is lackluster even for ABC’s sitcoms. This show has been called dead in the water before, but it sure would seem that this is indeed the end.
