The darkness of the 1980s has been defined by Bret Easton Ellis, who gave us American Psycho and Less Than Zero, and now this film gives us a collection of his stories from the decade of decadence, centering around one week in 1983 Los Angeles and detailing the lives of sexually-ambigulous rock stars, philandering movie executives and a kidnapper, among others. Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Jon Foster, Austin Nichols, Amber Heard, Mickey Rourke, Winona Ryder, Chris Isaak and Rhys Ifans star. The Informers is also the last film of Brad Renfro, who died in early 2008.

An ambitious sci-fi saga that premiered on Comcast On Demand now makes its way into theaters. Thomas Jane stars as Major Mitch Hunter, a soldier in the year 2707 leading the human resistance against armies of creepy NecroMutants. Ron Perlman is Brother Samuel, who recruits Hunter and his team in an effort to fight back while the defeatist corporate commander Constantine (John Malkovich) wants to evacuate.
