Are Kara DioGuardi’s days as an ‘American Idol‘ judge numbered?

With Simon Cowell all but stating he will gone after his contract is up next year, and Paula Abdul sharing her insecurities about her future, no one knows what ‘Idol’’s judge’s table will look like in the future, especially this season’s experiment, fourth judge DioGuardi.

“I’m only here for one season,” she told TV Guide at the Phoenix House’s 6th Annual Triumph for Teens Gala. “That’s what we’ve discussed. So we’ll see what happens. Hopefully, they’ll keep me on.”

In a recent TV Guide interview, Cowell had kind words for DioGuardi, but said he didn’t know if she’d be back.

“The only say I have is about Ryan, Randy and Paula,” he said. “I’ve always made it clear that I wouldn’t like to do the show without them. So that’s all I’m really concerned about.”

Not exactly resounding support from the person on ‘Idol’ whose opinion counts most. But DioGuardi, who recently talked about her past struggles with an eating disorder, has a good attitude.

“My life has become extremely exciting and I am so excited for this opportunity,” she says. “I feel grateful to America that they let me grow and they let me find my groove on the show and that they were patient. And hopefully I haven’t disappointed them. It’s been a scary experience at times.”
