Just In Time For Fathers Day: Jeffrey Tambor Names Favorite TV Dads

As far as corrupt TV dad’s go, it doesn’t get much dirtier than Jeffrey Tambor’s portrayal of the tax-evading, prison-breaking Bluth family patriarch George Bluth Sr. on Arrested Development. And while he may not have been the most stand-up of fathers, what with the lying and hiding out in the attic, etc., in an interview with Fancast Tambor claimed he was a “great Darwinian,” with the importance being that always had a strong affection for his children, although not “touchy feely.” So who does Tambor, a real-life father himself, feel a strong affection for as far as favorite TV dad’s go? Take a look:
Ozzy Nelson: The Adventures of Ozzy and Harriet: I grew up watching him and I used to always think to myself ‘why isn’t my dad more like this guy?’ I absolutely loved him, he was so terrific.
Ward Cleaver: Leave It To Beaver: Just a classic!
Cliff Huxtable: The Cosby Show: I loved him, and that show was so real and easy and incredible.
Steve Keaton: Family Ties: Michael Gross was so wonderful, and I cast him in one of his first plays, we did regional theatre…way way way back in 1902.
