News: Nelson Mandela Birthday Concert Being Televised By VH1

It’s not every day that a world leader as significant and influential as Nelson Mandela turns 90. Thats why this summer the activist and Nobel Peace Prize-winner is being honored with a 3-day celebration, which culminates on June 27th with an over-the-top concert in London’s Hyde Park. Who’s been confirmed to perform thus far? Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis, and Annie Lennox, to name a few. The “46664″ Concert, named after Mandela’s prisoner number for the 18 out of 27 years he spent incarcerated in South Africa, will be televised by VH1 and hosted by Will Smith. All proceeds will go to benefit Mandela’s HIV/AIDS charity 46664, which he founded in 2002. This one is not to be missed!
