Patrick Swayze Hospitalized With Pneumonia

Patrick Swayze, 56, checked himself into the hospital this morning, according to A&E President Bob DeBitetto.

Swayze, who has been battling pancreatic cancer for a year, was admitted for observation after coming down with pneumonia. Chemotherapy is known to take a toll on the immune system.

“Patrick thanks everybody for the outpouring of support he’s received,” DeBitetto continued, adding, “Patrick will be promoting The Beast as soon as he’s back on his feet and feeling well again.”

One of the series’ producers said this is just a “bump in the road” for Swayze and we all wish him well.

Swayze was to appear at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles to promote his new television series “The Beast,” which premieres January 15th on A&E at 10 p.m.
