Allison Iraheta: Planning For New Album?

Allison Iraheta, season 8 ‘American Idol’ contestant, has signed a record contract with Jive Records/19Recordings. But when we talked to her last week at the GBK Pool Party, she was only just beginning to think about embarking on the first album of her career.

See what else the talented teen had to tell us about the album, the tour, and hanging out with the amazing Adam Lambert.

Tell me what’s going on now?
Well I got a little bit of down time after the show so I’ve just been relaxing.   But in two of weeks we’re going in for rehearsal for the tour.  So that’s the big thing that we are getting ready to do right now.

Do you have plans for an album?
Maybe.  I’m hoping after or during the tour so we’ll see what happens.

What are you most looking forward to in terms of the tour?
Performing with the other dudes.  I miss them so much and it’s been a while since we’ve been together for a while.  And I’m looking forward to not getting judged every time I’m singing.  I will be pretty comfortable with that.  It’s going to be cool.  I really can not wait.

What was the highlight of the finale for you?
I think when we were singing ‘We Are the Champions’ with Brian May and the drummer of Queen.  I was bowing to them.  Meeting him and shaking his hand was ridiculous.  I think that was the moment when we were all just singing because I watched all the other seasons and I’m not saying anything but I think this is the best season.  But yeah it was just really fun.

Do you get to hang out with the other guys like Adam and Kris?
Yeah we’ve met up and has dinners and just hung out.  There’s not a lot of time for that especially during the show so we would literally see each other for a couple of minutes and that’s it.  We would always be just rehearsing and doing our own thing.  But now that we’re done and going on tour we’re going to be going out and having fun just hanging out.
