Kourtney Kardashian On Her Maxim Lingerie Shoot & The Kardashian Stalkers

We love to love the Kardashian sisters. They stole our hearts with their adventures on Keeping Up With the Kardashians on E! and they’ll continue to keep us entertained on the new season, which premieres March 8th. But what’s it like behind the scenes for this talented trio and what does the future have in store for them? Kourtney Kardashian clued us in about some very sexy photos that are about to hit the streets, talked about the stalkers who have threatened her and Bruce’s life, and told us exactly what she thinks about her sister Khloe’s appearance on this season’s The Apprentice.

How do you like all this extra attention from the paparazzi and fans?

I think I’m used to it and the one thing that I partially like about it is that if I travel for appearances in Pittsburg and Ohio I’m sure there’s not that craziness there. I feel like it’s just really in LA, like if you’re in Beverly Hills or West Hollywood. Besides that I feel like you can pretty much do your own thing. If I go to the movies out here, or to the grocery store or to get my nails done like there’s never anyone. But then if Kim and Khloe get our nails done there’s like a million paparazzi waiting for us at the nail place.
But it’s cool that I can come back here and not have it if I don’t want it. Sometimes if you go to trendy restaurants you know they’re going to be there. You kind of just get used to it and know what to expect. But I love having my own thing where I can get away from it.

So tell me about those magazine features you have coming out.

Yeah I’m really excited. It was my first magazine cover ever. It was for 944 Magazine. It’s really exciting. It was such a great experience and it was pretty much my first photo shoot by myself. I was there all day from like nine in the morning to nine at night. We did so many different looks and it will be really fun to see what they actually use for the magazine. But we did so many different looks.

What was the shoot like?

I had a blonde wig on, I had a short wig on, and we just did really cool, fun, edgy fashion. It was all about fashion but a lot of it was like lingerie too but really cool and edgy.

Will we get to see it on the new season?

[Update: it will be shown in one of the earlier episodes]. But it was supposed to be like a ‘who is Kourtney Kardashian’. And it was supposed to have me in all these different looks. Different things of who I am. But I don’t know if that’s what it’s going to end up because we actually did it a while back and we shot it for season 3 so it gives a behind-the-scenes photo shoot.

When will the issue be out?

I think it’s the March issue of 944. Which is usually the one with Spring fashion which would be really cool.

What are you doing next?

We actually just talked about that… I think we’ll go to New York for fashion week. We haven’t done it in a while because Khloe has been busy the last few times that it’s been. But it’s my favorite time to go to New York and it’s also one of my favorite trips to take with my sisters.

What do you guys do together?

We just have so much fun. We always do the same things. We have to go to the same restaurants, we go to the fashion shows, and then we set up appointments to buy clothes for our store Dash. So we go and work but it’s also so much fun. The energy in New York at that time is so amazing.

Have you gotten used to all of this traveling and craziness yet? Or is it still sort of sinking in?

I love the traveling and the craziness. I get really excited to just have a day at home. Yesterday I hung out with [Cheetah Girl] Adrienne [Bailon] all day because she’s been out of town so we spent the whole day together. She’s Robert’s [Kardashian] girlfriend. And then I came home and just laid in bed and it’s like, I’m done. I’m ready to go again. I used to be such a homebody and stay home all the time. I just need a week. Like just somebody give me a week to sit at home. And then when I have one night I’m over it already. I’m like okay back to this busy life. It’s addicting.

Are you shooting the new season now right now?

We are done shooting season 3 and I believe it airs March 8th. So we’re excited for that. I also did a spread in Maxim that I did right after my 944. It’s not the cover it’s a two page spread but I haven’t seen that either.

When is that going to come out?

I believe that’s for the April issue and it comes out in mid March. That one was really fun but I was super nervous because it was definitely more lingerie inspired. So it was kind of nerve wracking. But it actually went pretty well.

What was the Maxim lingerie photo spread like to shoot?

I think with both photo shoots I felt super comfortable once I got there. I’m getting more and more used to it. I e-mailed this photographer yesterday that we love and we work with all the time. And we were like okay we need another photo shoot. And you know all these different things you want to do and it’s just a fun arena to play in. You can just do whatever you want. It’s really cool.

Are we going to see that in the new season as well?

Yes. I think it’s the same episode as the 944 shoot you’ll see a little bit of the Maxim one too.

What are you favorite moments from last season or all of the seasons?

I love the crazy fun moments that don’t even necessarily help tell the story. Like the one where Khloe and I beat each other up. And we did a bonus episode last season that was called ‘junk in the trunk’ and that was for sure my favorite one. We just hung out at the Viceroy and we went back to those funny moments. One time we were filming on Hollywood Blvd. and I tripped in front of all these people and I was wearing high shoes. And I fell straight on my face. And all the funny stuff, like it wouldn’t just be in an episode because it doesn’t really make any sense. So it was fun that we got to do that bonus one and go back to all the funny moments that we’d had. I feel so lucky to be able to film with my family and be together all day. And then right when we’re done filming we’re like okay I can’t see you for a while. We all go and do our own thing. And then two weeks later we’re back. Every day I’m not even kidding all I hang out with is my family. And it’s like don’t I have any friends? We’re like obsessed with each other. [laughs]

It’s interesting because you’re literally working with your family 24/7.

Right, and then it’s like when we’re done we should be so sick of each other but all we do is hang out together. It’s not normal. But honestly, I think that all of us have learned from having different girlfriends and stuff that I don’t expect certain things from my friends that I expect from my sisters. We have some friends that we’re really blessed to have that I would rely on like my sisters but I just feel like there’s nobody that you can depend on like your family. I just know they would do anything for me. It’s nice to have that comforting relationship.

What made you want to have your own boutique?

We’ve had our kids store called Smooch for a little over five years and we have the women’s store Dash for like three years now. They’re two doors down from each other. And my grandmother has actually had a children’s store for about thirty years. So we grew up going to visit her and we’d hang out in the store all day. So I think it was just in our blood.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

I don’t know. In ten years I’m going to be 39. I would hope that we’d have a bunch of stores. There are days when I’m totally over the store. I’ll say that to my Grandmom and she says it’s normal. But there are days when I haven’t been there in two days and I’m like oh, I gotta get to the store. See what’s going on and what sold and what the mannequins look like and stuff. So I definitely see myself still having a store and I’d like to have many. I think for sure that I’ll still be still working with Kim and Khloe. And maybe even doing like a clothing line. I feel like we’ll all be married and have kids by then.

Speaking of your store I know that in one of your episodes you had a run-in with somebody who broke into the store.

We have that kind of stuff all the time. It’s mostly weird phone calls and weird mail. Some of it’s funny and then some of it’s scary. We’ve got this one guy who used to write us literally every day. At first it was like first I’m going to kill Bruce then I’m going to kill Kourtney. Like details of what he’s going to do. Like all these people and you’re like why do they have that much time, ya know? So there’s definitely scary stuff. But I think we’re all really cautious. The other day someone send me flowers and a teddy bear and they were like I really want to get to know you and they put their phone number. And one time Khloe got a handbag mailed to her. They didn’t even put their name they just said like here enjoy.

What ever happened with the threatening phone calls? Did you guys call the cops?

We get them still all the time like every day. It depends on what it is. You can tell if it’s kids and we’ll call them back and we’ll be like if you kids keep calling we’re going to report you to the FBI. And then they stop calling. A lot of them are messages too at night when we’re not there. And so we give them to the police.

What’s your beauty secret? You always look so perfect.

Gee thanks. I don’t know. I feel like lately I take so long to get ready because I’ve been trying to relax. I’ll take a long bath whenever I get ready. That’s why it takes a long time. But I have to get eight hours of sleep or I can’t function. Lately I haven’t been doing that because we’ve just been so busy. Kim and I literally since like seventh grade have always used eye cream. And we used to put vitamin E oil on our eye lashes because we thought it would make them grow. But I don’t really think it does. I try to drink a lot of healthy drinks and stuff that I get at Whole Foods. There was a ginger one, Kombuchia, that I used to drink every say and I swear it made my hair so much thicker and healthier. That I would say is a good beauty secret. And I run. I’m a big fan of running. Every day when I get up I run outside with my little iShuffle and it just like clears your mind and it’s like time to myself. And obviously it’s good for your body but it just makes me feel good. If I don’t do it I don’t feel good.

Do you do that every day?

I would say at least four days a week. If I’m out of town I don’t do it. It centers me and I think about the things that are going on in my life. Sometimes I over think things but I think it’s good to have time to yourself. So that you’re not thinking oh how’s my life going all day. You just get so caught up.

What were your new year’s resolutions?

One of mine was kind of dumb but it was to be nice to my mom. Because we are partners in our kid’s store and we’re together all the time. And for some reason I just can’t be nice to her. I’m just going to try and be nice. It’s not that serious. So that was one of them and I’ve been really good. She called me today and she’s moving so she called me and, she’s an Indian giver! Anyways she took back a shade lounge that I had in my room. But she was so scared to ask me for it back and she told Khloe she was shocked at how nice I was. She was like, I thought you were going to curse me out when I asked. And I was like, take it. I don’t care. Then my mom was like, Khloe, I don’t know what’s going on but anything you want from Kourtney, just call her and ask her because she’s being really nice. I think I’ve been good on that. And then one that I notice every time it’s new years is that I try to be consistent with working out. I just started working out a few months ago but before that I didn’t work out for like a year. And it’s the thinking time also. Trying to have me time.

What’s the biggest thing for you that has come from being on the reality show? How has your life changed?

One thing that I enjoy is when we’re out and we hear what people say that so many people relate to our family. I just think that’s really cool. People tell us about things that we don’t think about. I think it’s cool that we’ve helped people. Khloe and I, especially when we did the episode with Shorty the homeless man and we tried to help him. So many people we’re touched and then wanted to go help people themselves. Any little stuff like that is cool to hear.

Have you guys had any follow-ups with Shorty? Do you know what he’s doing now?

We did. On the ‘junk in the trunk’ episode that I was talking about we went looking for him and we found him on Hollywood Blvd. He seemed to be doing well. People come up to us all the time and say I saw Shorty on Hollywood Blvd. He’s been homeless for over fifteen years and he really likes being homeless. That’s what he’s told us so I think that he’s comfortable with that.

You and your sisters have similar names. When you have kids in the future have you thought about what you’ll name them?

Like all K’s or something? I think it depends on who my husband is. I don’t know if there’s any more K names left since our family has a hundred. When I was little I always loved the name Valentina and I know that Selma Hayek named her daughter that. But that’s a name I’ve always loved. I don’t know why. I actually had a dog named Valentina so I probably wouldn’t name my daughter that. But I would want to come up with it with my husband.

What’s next for you and your sisters in 2009? What can we look forward to?

We are actually going to do a 2010 calendar together. Kim is launching her perfume and we’ve been talking about doing a sister perfume for Dash, our store. We’ve been talking about doing a book. We love doing stuff together so the most stuff we can do together the better. We enjoy working together so much. We’ve been talking about doing a clothing line but I don’t know because that’s a lot of work. I don’t think we necessarily have the time right now. But that’s always been a passion of ours. Expanding the stores and always trying to take things to the next level.

And Khloe is also going to be on The Apprentice this year?

Yeah. That starts in March too.

Has she already started shooting for it?

Yeah they were filming in New York. I don’t know if they’re still filming or not.

How did you react to the news that she was going to be on it? Did you call her right away?

I think she is such a great businesswoman. I work with her every day and she always has such great ideas. I thought it was brilliant to have her on the show. So it will be fun to see how far she gets. When we all film together we all know what goes on. It will be fun to watch her interacting with other people and not just our family. I could also see Khloe being shy with other people. It will be interesting to see. I don’t think she’ll be as crazy as she normally is.

I can totally see her winning though.

I could too so it will be fun to watch!
