The Amazing Race Blog: Kynt & Vyxsin’s Pink & Black Blast — New Season Of The Amazing Race Announced!

GET READY —— SURVIVOR & THE AMAZING RACE WILL
RETURN IN 2009

CBS has announced that it’s two Reality Super-Franchises —- Survivor and The Amazing Race —- will RETURN in 2009!

The eighteenth season of Survivor will debut on Thursday, February 12 at 8PM ET/PT and the Amazing Race’s fourteenth edition will premiere on Sunday, February 15 at 8PM ET/PT.

The Amazing Race 14’s premiere will mark the first time CBS has aired fall AND spring editions of The Amazing Race in the same season since the show’s tenth and eleventh editions aired during the 2006-2007 season.

Amazing Race 12 (our season) was unusual in that it aired as a “mid-season-replacement” when Viva Laughlin TANKED in the ratings.

The strong ratings for Amazing Race 12 [during it's unusual November-to-January broadcast run] prompted CBS to renew the show for the 13th and 14th seasons simultaneously.

Other new programming announced by CBS includes Game Show in My Head, a new Ashton Kutcher-produced hidden camera game show. This program will be hosted by former Fear Factor host Joe Rogan and will debut on Saturday, January 9 at 8PM ET/PT.

This announcement has prompted RAMPANT online speculation regarding the locations visited and the identities of the 11 NEW teams for Amazing Race 14! We will keep you posted when CBS announces the cast!
