‘Daisies’ Blossoms Into a Full Season

The most buzzed about new show of the season, Pushing Daisies, has received a full season order from ABC. Given CBS’ renewal of The Big Bang Theory last week, the news doesn’t come as any surprise as Daisies has performed better both critically and in the ratings.

The show becomes ABC’s second pickup of the season, with Private Practice already getting the go ahead for the back nine. Daisies run, however, hasn’t all been flowers and sunshine. The show has seen a steep decline in viewers from the premiere, down from 13 million to 8.9 million.

In addition, the show’s quality has dropped dramatically. Never having been a huge fan of the pilot to begin with, the second and third episodes have been painful to watch. While the backlash hasn’t been too bad so far, it’ll be interesting to see whether the show can maintain its status as a critical darling without some significant changes.
