So Long ‘CSI’

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Jorja Fox is bidding farewell to CSI. The 39 year old actress, whose character Sara Sidle is synonymous with the wildly successful CBS drama, no longer wants the grind of a weekly television series. Fox’s departure has nothing to do with contract disputes, only a desire to pursue other aspirations.

“There are all these things I want to do. Some are personal. Some are professional. And I really need to do some of them before I get too old. If I thought the show were on its last legs, I would have tried harder to stay the course. But I feel like its going to be around for a while, so if I don’t want some of those dreams to pass me by. I have to get off the ride for a while.”

While the majority of CSI fans have expressed disappointment, given the nature of the forensics procedural, it’s unlikely Fox’s departure will impact the show’s ratings in any significant way.
