Brothers & Sisters: “Just A Sliver” (recap)

Nora is now the proud owner of a mansion that will one day be the perfect home for her new start-up charity. There’s only one problem. The house isn’t exactly ready for business. It needs a full renovation and Nora’s decided to outsource with a little help from a few Walkers. Walkers with power tools? I’m definitely intrigued.
Holly has Rebecca sit in on an advertising meeting where she makes some basic observations and is deemed an ad genius. Wasn’t she just a filing temp?
Sarah, Ethan, and Kyle, are crazed before a meeting with a potential investor for Greenatopia. She offers a pep talk she barely believes and opens the door to their guest and looky, looky, it’s Graham Finch! You know, the guy who ruined Ojai and Sarah’s position in it, while pursuing her on the side.
Robert meets Kitty with the grand idea of surrogacy. Wouldn’t they have thought about that before adoption? Apparently not, as Kitty quickly shoots it down to his dismay, in favor of adopting.
Back at the Greenatopia meeting, Sarah pitches Graham ideas on their company but you wouldn’t even know since the room is filled with their sexual tension. Ethan and Kyle pick up on it and relay their warranted fears on doing business with him but she wins their approval to have another meeting solo – over dinner. A business date if you will. And she definitely will.
Kevin calls Kitty freaking out about the construction work Nora has thrust upon him, Scotty, Justin, and Saul, which they have no qualifications for, but she soon has other things to worry about when Trish calls her wanting to meet. Cut to the chase and Trish has realized Kitty’s was right and that her unborn baby belongs to Kitty and Robert. So long surrogate!
Rebecca expresses interest in Walker Landing so Holly decides to create a job for her as an advertising executive without consulting an out of town Tommy. And overlooks the fact that she’s never worked in advertising in her life. Details!
After Scotty unearths a termite infestation everyone is about to jump the construction ship but Rebecca arrives with pizza and lightens the mood with news of her new job which is met with unease since it was Holly’s doing. Justin comments on Rebecca’s lack of credentials and she storms out. Though she’ll be able to cool off in peace. Holly gives her Saul’s old office.
Sarah and Graham talk business over drinks but the first question is if she’s seeing anyone. How professional. Graham then says his company will invest if Ethan and Kyle step down. Sarah doesn’t exactly agree but they do kiss. What they lack in professionalism they sure make up in sexual heat.
Kitty fills Robert in on Trish’s decision but he questions her credibility as they check out Nora’s new place. He pushes up his sleeves to help and Kitty holds back on telling Nora about the baby.
Sarah tells Ethan and Kyle about the great offer and the big “but.” They’re not cool with it and blame her for selling out. Sarah joins the construction site to channel her frustrations on tearing down walls with Kitty and Nora while the guys fight over how to carpet the place. After one strong swing a crack brings down half the ceiling leading Nora to question everything she’s doing. Kitty talks her through it by highlighting everyone else’s much worse problems, but Nora isn’t sold and walks out.
Graham stops by Sarah’s where she tells him she can’t take his offer but does end up sealing another deal when they finally go at it. The Walker boys lead Nora back to the house to show her a hidden wall mosaic they found which inspires her to keep the house and finish with professional help. Tommy comes back and learns of Rebecca’s new job and office but saves his anger for Holly and there’s plenty of it. Holly challenges to fight him on it with the board and he storms out. Justin shows up in Rebecca’s new office with an I’m sorry present – Advertising for Dummies – and they make up.
Sarah tells Ethan and Kyle she was wrong and wins back their trust with pizza and beer. Sounds good to me. Robert comes to terms with Trish’s decision and he and Kitty sit in on her sonogram, beaming like proud parents. Later, in the wee hours of the night, Tommy calls Saul into his office to let him know he’s ready to take him up on his offer to get Holly out. Halle-freaking-luya.
