Watching on Fancast: Weeds (recap)

There’s a bathroom crisis in the Botwin household. Last night on Weeds Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) isn’t quite fast enough to make it to the single bath at Lenny’s first thing in the morning. So she decides to do a little remodeling. Only money’s tight. Even if she is making an ungodly salary at the maternity shop. What to do? Doesn’t she have some old friends in Ren Mar? It’s been months since the fire, maybe they’re ready for a little smoke. But Guillermo (Guillermo Diaz) is unwilling to let his merchandise go for less than 25 bucks a gram. That’s worse than street value. So Nancy decides to go straight to the top of the food chain. She pushes for a personal interview with the Mayor of Tijuana, her silent partner at the store and his response is to drape her over his knee in the back of his limo and give her the spanking she deserves. Too bad she loves it.

Doug (Kevin Nealon) and Andy (Justin Kirk) are looking for some scratch too so they do a little market research. How to become a wiley coyote? Get some inside information from the local vigilantes who surveil parts of the border Immigration either can’t watch or doesn’t bother to. It took me a second but it dawned on me that the vigilante chief is Lee Majors. He’s aging well, but his taste in girlfriends tends toward the WWE.

Silas (Hunter Parrish) visits Lisa (Julie Bowen) at the cheese shop and decides he wants more than a stroll in the park, so he gives her a trip around the world. On the cutting table. So that’s the secret ingredient… The boys are exploring their sexuality and Shane (Alexander Gould) doesn’t want to be left behind. The problem is he’s got the hots for mom after he stumbles across some sexy photos she took in her wilder days. He’s bringing them to bed but the camera cuts away before he does.

Things are looking up for Celia (Elizabeth Perkins) as well. She visits her PO and he hands her the envelope sealing her freedom. She’s so grateful she suggests a tryst. Sorry. He’s seeing someone. A guy with an obscenely hairy chest we later come to find. But it all works out in the end.

A severely chastened Guillermo drops off the 300 pounds of pot Nancy’s been getting her ass slapped for and I have rarely seen such raw emotion displayed by an actor without saying a word. His eyes say it all and he’s not going to forget that she went over his head. But it looks like Nancy can afford that 2nd bathroom now. With a jacuzzi.
