This week on Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Liam is celebrating his first birthday! Dean thinks they should have an intimate barbeque in the backyard and Tori agrees. They have to make it monkey-themed because that’s the little guy’s nickname after all! After some talk about balls (not the toy), Dean shares his new acting gig: voice overs! He can do it from home and it rakes in extra dough. I will hand it to him… he’s got a sexy voice. He can’t, however, do a Rocky impression… even with his fancy mike.

Tori hops into party planning mode and invites Liam’s two gay “uncles”over to plan. They go crazy… seriously. It turns into an intimate get-together to a 100-person guest list just like that. There’s mentions of a mansion, Moonbonce, monkeys on bicycles, and face paint. Dean is a Debbie Downer and points out that Liam won’t even remember the party. He blames the fact that she wants this shindig on their upbringing… I blame it on a lack of common sense. Tori takes Liam to a Spelling family tradition, Hansen’s Bakery in Beverly Hills. She orders a giant monkey cake that will be 36 inches tall. This won’t end well. Oh, and it’s banana flavored. Ha.

Mama has to make money, and despite her ginormous belly, she takes off to NYC. After a red-eye flight she has to be up in a few short hours to begin the round of press for her book tour. Up first is The View, and Barbwa is not taking any crap. She drills Tori about her mom, her income, etc. Tori felt kind of attacked… and I kind of agreed. Lighten up, ladies! Next is the press tour where Tori does like a million interviews for the press. Poor thing is already exhausted and no one seems to remember the fact that she’s pregnant. All the while, she’s trying to call her gay minions back home to plan little Liam’s party. Oy vey. She’s whisked away to a book singing at Borders and the rabid fans have found their way out of the woodwork! They’re all pretty hilarious, including a really flamboyant gay guy who tries to get his own reality show.

Right around the time that she’s wrapping up, Tori starts to have some cramps and contractions. I think she’s trying to tell you something, mommy! Poor little thing is tired and just wants Tori to rest. But Tori has another event to get to and off she goes. Thankfully, she gets the chance to sit down and eat for a few minutes. She uses the opportunity to check in at home and Tori’s friend opens her fat trap to tell Tori how rude that is to do at the dinner table. Normally I agree… but she’s like hugely pregnant, on a press tour, and missing her family. Leave her alone! Back at the hotel, before she passes out Tori tries to call Dean to tell him about her day. Unfortunately, he’s rocking Liam to sleep (it was an aww moment) and can’t answer. Tori feels neglected.

Tori is finally done with her press tour and is back in LA. The big day of Liam’s party has finally arrived! We get the news that Tori’s mom won’t be able to make it because of a recent arm surgery, and I’m mad at the missed opportunity to see drama. However, the entire party is a hit! It’s way too outrageous for a 1-year-old but no one seems to notice. They get their Moonbounce, cotton candy, milkshake station, photo booth, and diamond cutting machine. Even the C-list celebs make an appearance… Denise Richards, Carmen Electra, Loni Anderson, and Zack Quinto (who’s playing a young Spock in the next Star Trek movie) are there. Goody. Everyone has fun though (except when the giant monkey cake made Liam cry), and after a long day Tori waddles back home and hops into bed. She can hardly even walk, which is a big sign that she’s overdoing it. Dean makes it his mission to make life easier for her and vows to fix her meals for her and take Liam off her hands more. What a sweetie! Tori’s got a good guy there
