The Hills Lauren Conrad Snags 3 Book Deal

Lauren Conrad has yet another notch in her bedpost, this time because of a three-book deal she was offered by Harper Collins. Her new book series, called LA Candy, will be based on her own transition from OC brat to Hollywood reality star. “I’ve always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to,” she said in a statement. “I’m so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers.”

Associate Publisher Elise Howard could barely contain her excitement, saying “I’ve never seen a new project generate noise like the instant buzz that swept through our offices around this deal.” Unfortunately what Howard doesn’t know is that the “buzz through her office” was probably the collective sound of a million publishing agents, interns and secretaries groaning in disbelief.
