Matthew Perry is a sullen man who is bitter about his life choices and the fact that getting his girlfriend pregnant in high school derailed the basketball career he dreamed about, and now his wife (Leslie Mann) is divorcing him because he can’t get over himself. But when a magical janitor (Brian Doyle Murray) casts a spell on him to turn him into his younger self (Zac Efron), he winds up going to school with his kids (Michelle Trachtenberg, Sterling Knight) and finds a new perspective on his own life - and tries to hook up his nerdy friend (Thomas Lennon) with the school principal (Melora Hardin) in the process.
