Tom Selleck Talks “Daughters of Satan”
If you caught the Friday the 13th show of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, which was rerun last night (see, we can catch up on Craig now that Conan is gone from the 12:30 slot), you saw Tom Selleck talking about one of his earliest movies, the free Fancast film Daughters of Satan, from way back in 1972. It’s an unintentionally funny classic, and Selleck plugged it as his own “slasher movie.”
“It was a beauty. It’s called Daughters of Satan. The best thing in it - there are five breasts. I have no idea why there’s an odd number. But you all should rent it. I get nothing for that movie. I couldn’t do a very good deal. I was desperate.”
Selleck also couldn’t remember if that was in his “pre-mustache” days when Craig asked him, but we can report to you now that the famous stache was already in place by the time the Devil’s daughters got their hooks into him.

Selleck plays Jim, an antique dealer who comes across a mysterious painting which features a center figure who looks a hell of a lot like his wife Chris (Barra Grant). When the other figures start to fade from the canvas and a snarling dog named Nicodemus starts showing up in his life along with a disagreeable maid, things start to get hectic, to the point where he eventually gets to kicks a case of Marlboros into the face of a guy chasing him with a gun. Chances are, this whip-crazy torture cult of Lucifer has something to do with it!
Watch Selleck warming up for his eventual role as Magnum P.I. (he even has a Magnum pistol in his bedside table) in a movie that shows just how low Satan will sink for some celluloid fame.
