Cristian De La Fuente To Brothers & Sisters, New Gossip Girl With Fangs Series
Here’s what’s up this afternoon:
- Hoping to cash in on Twilight mania, the CW is developing a series based on the popular ‘Vampire Diaries’ books. The book series comes from the same literary powerhouse that gave us Gossip Girl and Priviledged. So…imagine Blair Waldorf as a blood-sucking hellion. Oh, wait…that’s not hard to imagine.
- Dancing With the Stars hottie Cristian De La Fuente seems to be headed to the third season of Brothers & Sisters as Cal, a co-worker and potential love-interest to Sarah Walker. He is slated for only a few episodes, “but the story will be left open, to see if Cal may hopefully return,” says De La Fuente to his hometown Chilean paper.
- CBS goes to Washington with their new series, The Body Politic. The series will be based on a group of young people working in the political circles of Washington D.C., particularly a woman who moves to the big city to work for a Senator. Female interns and politicians? Sounds like a recipe for workplace inappropriateness.
- Miley Cyrus is up for several Kid’s Choice Awards, including Favorite Female Singer, Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Voice in an Animated Movie. This will be her first major appearance after her latest photo fiasco. Head to Variety for a full list of nominees.
- Jennifer Lopez gets into the business of scripted TV, and adapts the series ‘Rebelde Way’ being for U.S. audiences. The original Argentinian show centered on a group of young students who form a pop group. Dios mío, not another TV tween-pop sensation.
