Preview: Shelley Long Brings Out The Laughs On Wednesday’s ‘Modern Family’

Tomorrow night Shelley Long returns to TV as Jay’s (Ed O’Neill) absent ex-wife Dede Pritchett on ABC’s hit comedy ‘Modern Family.

In the episode “The Incident,” we learn through a flashback that the titular event is based on Dede’s hilariously offensive toast at Jay and Gloria’s (Sofia Vergara) wedding. “Thirty-five years of marriage and you couldn’t wait 10 minutes to run away with Charo,” Dede quips of Jay’s new wife. “I knew they were perfect for each other when I saw his wallet and her boobs.”
