Tuned In: What’s Hot, Hotter And Definitely Not Happening In TV
“American Idol” doubled up the competition Wednesday night, as two hours of the Idol juggernaut were enough to lift Fox to a huge ratings win. CBS was a distant second, followed by ABC, NBC and The CW.
Most series were down on the night including “Lost,” “Criminal Minds” and “Life on Mars.” One exception however was “CSI: New York” which inched up from its last new outing.
What’s Hotter: CSI: New York
The third to launch of the “CSI” franchise, the New York edition got lost in the shuffle its first year. People said the tone was too bleak and that it didn’t stand out on its own. Flash forward a few years later, and the show is a bonafide hit, drawing in nearly 13 million viewers last night. We’re also getting peeks into the personal lives of the characters, and New York has really emerged as an actual character almost on the show. With these three shows going full steam ahead, can CSI: Kansas City be far behind?
What’s Definitely Not Happening: Life
This show seems to be getting lost (no pun intended) on the busy Wednesday night schedule, and last night “Life” pulled in just a tad under 5 million viewers. And although that would be cause to do the happy dance on most cable networks, NBC has got to be a bit disappointed. The show has never pulled in huge numbers, but its been a critical favorite, and the fan base that does watch is is very passionate. Yet to be seen is whether the show will be back in fall for a third season.
