90210 Star Says She Doesn’t Have An Eating Disorder

Regardless of her appearance during the first season of 90210, Shenae Grimes is now publicly denying the rumor that she has an eating disorder. She tells People “Meet me in person, and you can’t say anything. No bones sticking out,” adding that “Just because people are calling you skinny doesn’t mean I’m like, ‘Yay!’ No! You’re telling me I don’t look right. This is me, this is my body – I have accepted it.”

But she seems to understand the buzz, attributing the rumor to tabloid mentality, saying “Of course we’re the new girls on a hit show so we’re plopped into these little boxes. And people buy it. It makes me totally second guess anything I’ve ever read about anybody.”

Something makes us think of Courtney Thorne-Smith and Portia DeRossi on Ally McBeal. Will Grimes backtrack when the series ends like these ladies of a previous TV generation did after years of being accused of eating disorders?
