On the last day of the two-week Winter TCA press tour, ABC Entertainment president Steve McPherson shed some light on the futures of two comedies with uncertain futures.

When asked if long-running FOX animated comedy ‘King of the Hill’ would be picked up by ABC, McPherson stated, “We don’t have any plans to pick up the show. You’d have to ask FOX.” Speculation has run rampant that ABC would pick up the series after its run ends later this year on FOX, as it is produced by ABC Studios and has seen its ratings inch up a bit this season.

McPherson also didn’t seem too eager to commit to another season of ‘Scrubs,’ which just began its first season on ABC after a seven-year run on NBC. “Another year? I don’t know. It would be hard to do the show without Zach. We’ll have to watch a few more weeks in the ratings. It’s been good for us and the numbers have been pleasing.”

Series star Zach Braff and creator Bill Lawrence are exiting the hospital comedy after this season, and fans of the show have hoped that there might be life in the series with the remaining cast plus a crop of new interns.
