‘American Idol’ Makes Unusual Judge Choice
Neil Patrick Harris is on fire right now, and there couldn’t be any better evidence of it than his latest gig.
Harris will serve as a guest judge on ‘American Idol,’ sitting in with Simon, Kara and Randy for the Dallas round of auditions.
It’s an unusual move for Fox, who initially said they planned to only feature female pop stars as the celebrity fill-ins until a replacement is found for Paula Abdul.
It’s also unusual considering Harris, whose talents are mighty and many, is not a singer or musician. But Barney Stinson has–legendary–style, so having an ear for good taste and mocking the bad should be no sweat.
The ‘How I Met Your Mother‘ star did perform in the cult fave Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog however. He has also performed on Broadway and was the toast of the town when he hosted this year’s Tony Awards, so make sure to tune-in to CBS on Sept. 20th, when Harris takes the stage as host of the Primetime Emmy Awards.
