If you think Jessica Simpson is heavy, her sister would like a word with you. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz took to to the internet to defend those pictures of the “Newlyweds” star looking a little plumper than usual.

“I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight,” Simpson wrote on her website. “A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.”

Ashlee included that celebrities are held to much higher standards than normal women and that it’s normal for a woman’s weight to fluctuate. She’s got a point—who else would ever be scrutinized for being a size 2? Sounds an awful lot like the fuss made over Eva Longoria’s 5-pound weight gain a few months ago.

Most people are chalking this up to an unflattering pair of jeans, but the New York Post has taken the teasing a bit further. Click here to check out their (rather unwitty) cartoon.
