Carrie Prejean Defends Her Book & “Sex Tape” On ‘The View’

Carrie Prejean got into a tiff with the ladies of ‘The View’ today.

Although she was there to promote her book, ‘Still Standing,’ the conversation quickly turned to Prejean’s leaked “sex tape,” an explicit video she had made herself and sent to her boyfriend when she was 17.

“You made the tape, you have photos of yourself,” Joy Behar said. “You didn’t go along with the morals clause, which is in the pageant’s rules.”

“Did you see the attacks that I was under?” Prejean angrily responded. “Did you see the names I was called? What did you think?”

Barbara Walters had a different reaction. “It’s deplorable that it happened to you,” she told the beauty queen. “On the other hand it’s the best thing that happened to you,” to which Prejean smiled and replied, “Yeah.”

Whoopi Goldberg had her own questions for the controversial personality. “Were you Christian when you made the tape?” she asked. “My faith has progressed throughout the years,” said Prejean. “The issue is not about what [we are] called…Christians aren’t perfect.”

“I never said Christians were perfect,” continued Whoopi. “I’m just saying the way you have presented yourself, and can make edicts about other’s way of life, are you surprised that you’re getting the same backlash?”

Prejean explained, “I expressed my view in front of millions people. And people weren’t happy with that.”

The X-rated video surfaced during a negotiation session pertaining to Prejean’s lawsuit against the Miss California pageant for taking away her crown.

The beauty queen, 22, has claimed that the tape was not a “sex tape” because she was the only one involved. “It was me by myself. There was no one else with me. I was not having sex,” she told the Today show this week. Her mother had also indicated that she had seen the tape and was “in shock.”
