A Pushing Daisies reunion, Mommy Dearest on Grey’s Anatomy, and Hilary Duff is Barely Legal? That’s the latest in casting news out of Hollywood.
Let’s elaborate. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Swoosie Kurtz will reunite with her former Daisies boss, Bryan Fuller, when she guest stars on his other show, Heroes in April. Kurtz will play Millie, an old society friend of Angela Petrelli’s in a part specifically written for her. Her spokesperson confirmed the news, saying, “It’s a really fun role.” As of now it’s a one episode gig but with potential for recurring status.
EW also confirmed that Faye Dunaway has signed on for at least one episode of Grey’s Anatomy as a renowned Seattle Grace doc who we’ve somehow missed until now. Her episode will air in February just in time for sweeps and she’ll cross paths with Cristina, Owen, and the Chief.
And in new show casting news, The Hollywood Reporter says Hilary Duff is set to star in a new half-hour comedy for NBC called “Barely Legal.” The series is the product of a talent deal the singer/actress made with network and is based on the true story of Kathleen Holtz who at age 18 became the youngest person to pass the California bar in November 2007. Duff will portray Holtz. The show is created by Numb3rs star Rob Morrow (he’ll also serve as executive producer) through his production company Bits and Pieces Prods. and has received a script commitment and pilot order from the peacock net.
